Saunders is a product company proudly providing Military Insignia like Patches, Badges, Medals, Decals, Crest, Ribbons and more. The Company Founder, H. J. Saunders was an avid gun collector in 1968 when he began trading military insignia as a sideline. Soon he had a closet full of various U.S. military items that he was successfully selling to other collectors. Our Company has been on a growth track from this very beginning. Of the many customers we have visiting our web store every month over 50% are return customers. As U.S. Military veterans ourselves, we have a keen appreciation for the needs of our customers. As always they wish to serve their collectors, veterans, veteran’s families and active military to the best of our ability.
THE CHALLENGE: SIMPIFY
CONSOLIDATE MULTIPLE POS, ECOMMERCE, INVENTORY AND CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Saunders badly needed to consolidate three separate IT Systems that managed their business. They were using an old very outdated DOS based Database System for Orders, PO’s and Inventory. A second system was then used to record purchased from their web site, of which they had to download, print each order and run each order through a credit card swipe machine. In additional they were not able to change any product information, product photographs or other web page content. They also had separate catalogs for each military branch that had to be manually updated in a file, send to a web programmer and then loaded to the web site. They were looking for a company to help design, implement and transfer the data and process from 3 separate systems into ONE solution and Internet Office delivered.
THE SOLUTION:
INTERNET OFFICE SUITE
Internet Office worked diligently with Saunders to review their existing systems and process. A plan was developed to import and clean the existing 500,000 orders, customers, 14,000 products, product images and billing history into a modern web based solution. The Internet Office Suite (IOS) On Demand SaaS to allow Saunders a single solution for their most demanding business processes. They can now manage large amounts of product information, product images, automatically generate product catalogs, eliminate double data entry or orders, process orders online, manage inventory, create Purchase Orders and their data is automatically backed up without any additional cost or effort.
THE RESULTS:
SAUNDERS HAS REGAINED EFFICIENCIES FROM SYSTEM CONSOLIDATION
As a direct result of utilizing Internet Office and the IOS On Demand SaaS, Saunders Military Insignia has significantly expanded their IT Systems capabilities and increased productivity from system consolidation. This includes a sitemap and index for over 14,000 individual products that was submitted to Google and Yahoo in the industry standard technical sitemap.xml format.
